Privacy Policy

Privacy is extremely important to us. We do not sell your data to any third parties, or use data for any other purpose than to provide a better service. This privacy policy describes that in more detail – the way that we use and collect your data in order to provide our service.
Definitions. In this document we use some words that we’d like to define. “Personal Information” is information that can be used to identify you as an individual. We Listen considers this to include information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify or contact you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. We Listen does not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymised so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual. Most typically, the only Personal Information we have access to is your phone number. We may occasionally have access to other information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, or email address (if you email us).
Communications with We Listen. If you engage in communication with a listener on We Listen, or if you engage in a pre- or post-call survey related to any such communication, you may voluntarily provide, or otherwise be asked to provide, Personal Information such as your name, cell phone number and other information to facilitate service.  By providing Personal Information and other information to We Listen, you consent We Listen collecting and processing such information for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. We will store your phone number, so that the next time you call from that number you can be connected to the same listener you spoke with before, or another listener if that is what you request. We do not routinely store other Personal Information. We may occasionally store information you voluntarily provide (such as your age or situations you are going through), but this will not be linked to your “Personal Information”, i.e. it will not be linked to your phone number. Therefore we do not consider this “Personal Information”. Such information will be stored in aggregate for us to better understand who our customers are, so we can provide a better service. Your listener will likely remember information about your situation, but this is not stored by We Listen. If you talk to a different listener the next time, they will not have access to any information you shared with the previous We Listen listener. We do not share this information between listeners, in order to protect your privacy. More broadly, all listeners at We Listen have signed a confidentiality agreement to keep your Personal Information within We Listen. 
Browser Information and Usage Information. We log web browser information (e.g., Internet Protocol addresses and browser types) and other usage information from the We Listen website such as page view tallies, time spent on each page, geographic location information, page browsing information, subject matter browsing information and operating system information. We may also use browser information, cookies and pixel tags: to determine how you arrived at the We Listen website, to determine whether you are a return visitor, to help us improve our product and service offerings, for quality assurance and training purposes, to help diagnose problems with our servers, to gather broad demographic information, to administer and optimise our services, and for other lawful purposes. Your browser may be set to limit or prevent any of the browser information described above from being transmitted. We collect and store this information in aggregate, and can not attribute any particular browser action to a particular individual. Therefore we do not consider this “Personal Information”.
Requests for Information, Promotions, News and other Content. When you sign up to receive information, updates on promotions, news and other content related to new and existing products and services related to We Listen, you will be asked to provide Personal Information, such as contact details and other information, relevant to delivering such news and information. We maintain all such information until requested by you to remove it.
Aggregate Information. We may aggregate anonymised information such as call length so that it is not Personal Information, and we may use and share such aggregated information for training and quality assurance purposes, for purposes of delivering our services, for purposes of expanding and improving our services and for other lawful purposes.
Payment Information. In the event that a User elects to purchase paid services, other Personal Information such as name, address and credit card payment information will be collected in order to process payment. Such information will not be shared with anyone outside of We Listen. Payments are processed by Third Party Payment Providers and we do not have access to your credit card information at any time.
Confidentiality. All listeners at We Listen have signed a confidentiality agreement to keep your Personal Information within We Listen. We Listen will then only utilise said Personal Information in accordance with policies described above.
Child Protection. We Listen complies with the Children’s Privacy Protection Act and clearly specifies that customers must be at least 18 years-old, or between the ages of 13-18 years old with parental consent. If We Listen learns of a customer who is younger than 18, or 13-18 years old without parental consent, then We Listen, at their sole discretion, can refuse to provide future services.
Consent and Changes. ​You may not use the We Listen listening service if you do not agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy; you understand that We Listen can change this privacy policy by posting changes to this website. Your ongoing use of We Listen indicates that you accept any changes to the Privacy Policy. If you have questions or comments regarding this privacy policy, please contact us.
